Claim Your Google My Business Profile, it’s essential

March 2nd, 2022

Google My Business is something that every business needs to claim. No matter if you're a plumber, florist or medical practice Google My Business will allow potential customers to find your business easily when they search in Google. If you have a physical location that people can walk into then the next step in the process is claiming your Google My Business Profile

It is important to claim your Google My Business profile because without it you cannot respond to reviews or messages. If someone has bad service elsewhere and sees that your Google My Business Profile is unclaimed they may think that your business is the same way, if this happens enough times people will spread the word about your business being bad so there's a huge chance they'll go elsewhere. Secondly, without a claimed profile you can't post photos, videos, or rich snippets to further attract customers - so there are many more reasons why you need to claim your Google My Business profiles.

Google allows three free claims for Google My Business profiles per week which means there's no reason not to have yours claimed! To do this simply follow the steps above which include signing into google with your Gmail then verifying your location with either texting or a mobile number you already have added to Google My Business. Remember if your search traffic has dropped dramatically it could be because you're not claiming your business on Google, why not try it today?

Google My Business is something that every business needs to claim. No matter if you're a plumber, florist, or medical practice - Google My Business will allow potential customers to find your business easily when they search in Google. If you have a physical location that people can walk into then the next step in the process is claiming your Google My Business Profile.

To do this simply head over to google.com/business and sign in using your Gmail account [assuming you have one]. Once there click 'Start Now' so we'll be able to get your website verified [obviously]. A verification code will be sent to either your mobile phone [if you have it] or by an SMS text message [if you don't have a mobile phone].

Enter the text message/code and click Verify [if you're receiving it by SMS] or Next [if you're getting your SMS verification code from a mobile phone number that you added to Google My Business previously]. A map with a location pin will be inserted into the search area, if this doesn't happen simply enter an address and select a business category. Click continue when done.

Google will ask you for some information about your business in order to secure your listing so please ensure all fields are completed correctly otherwise we risk losing our Google My Business profile. Once finished click save and we can start using our new listing on Google Maps! Didn't add a location? Want to add one? Go back to Step 3 and add a location, business category, and contact information for your new listing.
